Siesta Hotel
The pool at Siesta Hotel sits ringed by banana trees and flowering gardens, with hummingbirds working the beds most mornings. The hotel climbs a hillside in Morne Rouge, on Grenada's southwest coast, its rooms and apartments stacked across ground and upper floors so that many balconies catch a view of water or garden. Grand Anse Beach, two miles of pale sand, lies a short walk away. Family-run across three generations, the hotel keeps its layout compact: pool, gardens and restaurant all within a few minutes' walk of each other and of the beach itself. Rooms run from a 320-square-foot hotel room with a king bed up to a 480-square-foot two-bedroom apartment sleeping four. The Hilltop Oceanview rooms and suites face the water directly. You can eat at Calypso, a poolside restaurant serving breakfast and lunch with a Caribbean lean — saltfish buljol, callaloo, curried roti — alongside a juice bar pouring drinks from local produce. Dinner is not on the regular menu but can be arranged with the kitchen on request. It is a modest stay rather than a grand one, built for guests who want the beach, the mall and a few good restaurants within easy reach rather than a resort compound. Air conditioning, WiFi and a private balcony come standard in every room.
