Simbavati Northern Migration Camp

Set on a ridge above the Serengeti plains, the camp overlooks the Mara River and the routes the wildebeest and zebra follow during the annual migration. Six canvas tents face the open savannah; each has a private balcony, an en-suite shower, and views that stretch across the grassland. The Serengeti holds resident lion prides, leopards in acacia cover, and elephant herds that move through the corridor year-round. Game drives leave twice daily in open vehicles; rangers track predators and prey across the plains and focus on the migration herds between July and October when the crossing occurs. Walking safaris depart camp with an armed guide and cover the immediate ridge and floodplain vegetation. Hot-air balloon rides lift before dawn; you watch inflation at the launch site, then drift above the herds as the sun rises. A dining deck runs the length of the main structure and offers unobstructed sightlines over the plains. Bush dinners take place in the boma around a wood fire; lanterns mark the perimeter. The camp holds six tents and operates with a single ranger team, so sightings and routes reflect the priorities of that morning's drive. Laundry is available. Staff speak English. Children from six years are welcome.
