Sofitel Luang Prabang
Sofitel Luang Prabang is a former French governor's residence, restored and set within walking distance of Luang Prabang's old town. Twenty-five suites and pool villas fill the grounds, each with a private terrace or garden, and several with their own plunge pool or bathtub. The Signature Governor's Residence is the largest, at 120 square metres with a king and a queen bed. Rooms run from 46 to 120 square metres. A colonial-style bar keeps a fireplace lit for evening drinks, and the all-day restaurant serves Lao dishes built on local produce. There is a spa, a fitness centre with current equipment, and a pool where a firepit draws guests after dark. You can walk to the night markets in around ten minutes, past shopfronts and temple gates that predate the hotel by centuries. Breakfast leans on Lao coffee and local pastries, taken with a view towards Mount Phousi. It is a compact, all-suite stay, built for slow mornings and short walks rather than long transfers. Meeting space extends to a hall of 120 square metres, suited to gatherings of up to a hundred. Check-in runs from 2pm.
