Splash Inn Dive Resort
West End Beach, Roatan: a small dive resort steps from the reef
West End Beach in Roatan runs along Half Moon Bay, and Splash Inn Dive Resort sits directly on the sand, in the middle of the village. No taller buildings stand between the rooms and the water. The Bay Islands sit off mainland Honduras, and West End itself is a walkable strip of dive shops, cafés and restaurants, all within a few minutes on foot. The resort has 25 rooms, each with air conditioning, a ceiling fan, cable TV and wifi. A private dock extends from the property into the bay. Dive instructors work on site, so guests reach the boats without leaving the grounds; the dive centre runs three high-speed boats out to more than 40 sites, most within fifteen minutes, along the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. Trips run up to three times a day, plus night dives and a shark dive at Cara Cara. Non-divers can book snorkelling trips, kayaking, paddleboarding or a glass-bottom boat tour through reception. West Bay Beach lies a five-minute boat ride away. You can watch the sunset over the Caribbean from the terrace before the tanks go out again the next morning.
