Framed by native bush and looking down over the Kerikeri Inlet, each suite here opens onto its own balcony, where birdsong carries up from the gully below. The lodge holds three suites, each with a king bed and ensuite, built with heating and cooling for year-round comfort. It is a compact stay. Rooms were designed with privacy in mind, set apart enough that neighbouring decks stay out of view even when all three are full. Downstairs, a shared kitchen, dining room, and living room with a wood-stove fireplace open onto a wide balcony over the inlet, plus a courtyard with an outdoor table and a reading nook for a quiet drink in the afternoon. Mornings bring a help-yourself continental breakfast in the communal kitchen, with proper tea served in a pot for those who ask. The historic Stone Store and Mission House sit five minutes on foot, along with restaurants including Food at Wharepuke and The Pear Tree. From the lodge, a bush walk leads to Rainbow Falls in about an hour, and Kerikeri township is two kilometres away by road. You can hear the water below the balcony most evenings, once the birds settle. Golf courses at Kauri Cliffs, Carrington, Kerikeri, and Waitangi lie within easy driving distance, and the lodge can arrange tee times and transport on request.
