Storm Hotel is set in central Reykjavík, midway between the office quarter and the city's principal shopping street. The location works on foot: guests can walk to the Sun Voyager sculpture or catch a bus or hire scooter out to Gullfoss, Geysir, or the Blue Lagoon. Rooms come in three types, from economy to a standard double with balcony, and run from about 14 to 17 square metres. Design leans Nordic throughout: soothing colours, nature-inspired textures, and parquet floors, with a walk-in shower and writing desk in every room. Fifth-floor balcony rooms look out over the Reykjavík skyline. Downstairs, a bar and lounge pours cocktails, wine, and beer through a daily happy hour, and breakfast is included in every rate. The hotel's own name is a nod to Iceland's weather, which shifts from clear sky to snow within a day. It is a compact stay, built for a city break rather than for lingering in the room. Parking is limited and free, useful given how changeable the forecast can be. For a traveller working through Reykjavík's museums, harbourfront, and cafés by day, Storm offers a plain, well-run base to return to each evening.
