Sublime Tahiti Beach Retreat
Guests arrive at Papeari, on Tahiti's south coast, where the retreat sits between the tree line and the open Pacific. The property shares its grounds with the Gauguin restaurant, serving French and Polynesian dishes since 1968. Bungalows come in three configurations: a deluxe ocean-view bungalow for two, and two pool bungalows for three, one with a kitchenette. Each has air-conditioning, a balcony, a mini-fridge, and a shower. It is a compact, low-rise stay. An infinity pool runs along the shore, and a day pass with lunch is offered to non-guests on weekends and weekdays alike. From the beach, boats go out at sunset across calm water, and guides lead trips to spot dolphins and whales offshore. You can also arrange horseback riding, surfing, sailing, or a hike up through the valleys behind the coast. Teahupo'o, the surf break that hosted the 2024 Olympic surfing, lies further along the peninsula, and the Atimaono golf course is a short drive away. The retreat can be booked in part or in full for weddings, birthdays, and small work retreats, with catering run through the Gauguin restaurant. It sits under fifty minutes from the international airport, with car rental available on arrival. Coordinates place it at PK 50.5 on the seaside road, opposite the museum that shares the painter's name.
