Tai Roto Bay Beach Villas
Six villas, one lagoon, ten steps of Aitutaki sand and shade

On Aitutaki Lagoon, a marine reserve ranked among the world's better-known lagoons, Tai Roto Bay Beach Villas holds a private stretch of white sand backed by coconut palms. The property is adults-only and family run, with six villas across four categories: absolute beachfront, beach view, lagoon and garden view, and garden view. The beachfront villas sit ten steps from the water, close enough that you can walk straight from the deck onto the sand. Each villa is self-catered, with a kitchenette, air conditioning, and a balcony or patio; some use solar heating for hot water. Snorkel gear, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are free to guests, and bonefishing can be done straight off the beach in front of the property. Restaurants, bars and tour operators are a short walk away, along with scooter and bicycle rental arranged on site. It is a small operation, run across generations by a local family who also run the boma of daily service: breakfast, cleaning, and local knowledge of the lagoon's cruises and outer islands. Aitutaki itself lies a 45-minute flight from Rarotonga. The lagoon stays warm and clear year-round, and the beach out front is calm enough for children of any age, though the property does not host them.
