Tambohus Kro & Badehotel

Set directly on the Limfjord at Thyholm, the inn faces Jegindø across the water, close enough that small boats in the harbour are visible from the dining room. It began, and remains, a working kro: a countryside inn built around its restaurant, with rooms added for those who want to stay the night rather than drive home. Meals draw on the surrounding coast: mussels and lobster from Jegindø, fish from the North Sea, vegetables grown nearby, game from Klosterheden. From late June to mid-August, a fish and shellfish buffet runs four nights a week, with around thirty dishes on the table. There is a bar in Struer under the bridge arches for something lighter, and function rooms for weddings, conferences and the long list of seasonal dinners the inn keeps up through the year. Breakfast is served with the same view as dinner. It is a quiet base, built for the water outside it.
