Meerkats Encounters

Tswalu is home to three habituated meerkat colonies, and early-morning visits to their burrows let guests watch daily routines unfold at close range. Groups head out from Tarkuni before the day's heat sets in, timing the outing to when the meerkats emerge to sun themselves and begin foraging. Guides keep a respectful distance so behaviour continues undisturbed. It is a quiet, patient activity rather than a dramatic one: you sit and watch a small, organised society go about its morning.
