Tasman Holiday Parks Te Anau

Te Anau grew up as the gateway town to Fiordland, and this park sits right at the edge of that role, a few steps from the lake that gives the town its name. The water is close enough to reach on foot in a minute. Cabins, villas and open camping sites share the grounds, so a family in a caravan and a couple in a lodge room end up at the same barbecue. Hot tubs face the lake, and there is a sauna for cooler evenings. You can walk into town in a few minutes for groceries, a pie shop or the cinema, and the Te Anau Glow Worm Caves sit a short drive along the shore. The Kepler Track starts six minutes away by car; the Milford Track and Milford Sound itself are further out but bookable through reception. A pizza oven runs three nights a week in the camp kitchen, BYO toppings. It is a working base rather than a resort, built for people heading out at dawn and returning after dark for a soak and a barbecue. Pets are welcome with notice. Check-in runs from 2pm, check-out by 10am, timed so there is still light for the mountains on arrival and one more swim before departure.
