Set into a canyon wall on the edge of Göreme, Tekkaya Cave Hotel sits two minutes on foot from the town centre. The building mixes true cave rooms carved into the rock with old stone-arch rooms, both fitted with the same modern basics: minibar, safe, Wi-Fi, air conditioning. Local handwoven carpets and curtains furnish each room, a nod to the region's textile trade rather than a theme applied for effect.
The Honeymoon Cave Suite adds a fireplace and a sitting area to the standard cave layout, with the same valley and pool outlook as the rest of the property. Family and junior suites scale up the same format for groups. Breakfast is served buffet-style in a lounge that opens onto a canyon view, and a terrace above it catches the sunrise over the valley. Hot air balloons drift past most mornings in season, and the terrace fills early for it. An outdoor pool sits below, open through the day for guests back from hiking or cycling the valleys nearby.
The hotel runs its own roster of day trips and activities: quad tours, horse rides through the Rose and Love valleys, hot air balloon flights, a Turkish bath, and a local cooking class with village women baking bread in a stone oven. Three restaurants operate within 100 metres, each offering guests a discount on room-service orders. Founded in 2018, the hotel is family-run and small enough that staff learn guests by name.
