The Beausite Hotel
The cocktail bar is the oldest part of the building, dating to 1636, all dark wood and worn character in a hotel that otherwise reads as comfortably modern. Beausite Hotel sits in Grouville on Jersey's south coast, close to Mont Orgueil Castle and a short run from Gorey harbour. It holds 72 rooms across three floors, each en suite, with ground-floor rooms looking onto the garden. Twin, double, treble and family rooms are available, and six self-catering apartments sit in a building next door for guests who want more space. Breakfast runs as a continental buffet with cooked dishes to order; dinner uses local ingredients where possible, served from 6.30pm with last orders at 8.30pm. The leisure centre holds an indoor pool kept at 28°C year-round, a sauna and a gym with weights and a treadmill, all overlooking the private garden. It is a quiet spot to swim before the day gets going. In summer the garden fills with colour and gives guests somewhere to sit outdoors. Free parking and bicycle storage make it a practical base for walkers and cyclists covering the island. St Helier is about 15 minutes away by car, and Jersey Airport around 35 minutes; a regular bus service runs into St Helier, Gorey and St Catherines. You can walk to the coast from the front door.
