Polynesian dance, weaving and music taught by locals
Skip to product information
Guides at The Brando share the skills and stories of Tetiaroa's culture directly. Guests can learn palm-frond weaving, used traditionally for roofs, baskets, hats and art, try pareu dyeing and tying, and pick up rhythms on the ukulele, pahu or tō'ere drums. Others take a first attempt at Tahitian dance or absorb a few words of Tahitian language, taught through simple, playful phrases. Sessions run informally, often with resort staff who grew up with these practices. A custom pairing with a local expert can be arranged for a more personal, in-depth introduction to Polynesian life and heritage.
