The Dream St James

Days at The Dream start on the sand. The villa sits directly on the beach in The Garden, a quiet enclave of St James on Barbados's west coast, reached down a private drive that keeps the road noise and the neighbours at a distance. Seven bedrooms are split between the main house and a separate cottage, each with air conditioning and an en-suite bathroom; the main floor's master suite opens onto a private balcony with a clear run of ocean view. Living spaces are open-sided and pavilion-style, so the lounge, the pool deck and the dining terrace read as one continuous room. A media room downstairs holds a pool table, a film library and a proper screen for the nights guests stay in. Staff run to six: a butler, a cook, a laundress, two housekeepers and a manager, so the house tends to itself while guests are at the beach or in Holetown, two minutes away by car for restaurants and shops. It sleeps large groups without feeling communal. Check-in is at 3pm, check-out at noon, and children under 12 are not permitted.
