The Hoxton Amsterdam

Check-in happens on the Herengracht, one of Amsterdam's grand canals, a few minutes' walk from the Nine Streets shopping district. The Hoxton occupies a stretch of canal house architecture and runs 111 rooms, named Shoebox up to Biggy depending on size, each fitted with parquet floors and modern bathrooms. Many rooms look straight onto the water. Guests booking direct get free early check-in and late check-out, and can cancel without charge until 2pm the day before arrival. Lotti's, the hotel's restaurant and bar, serves food and drinks around the clock and leans on Latin-inspired dishes alongside its European base, with weekend DJ sets and a small gallery space showing rotating local artists. Centraal Station is a 15-minute walk; the nearest tram stop is two minutes away, and Schiphol is roughly a 30-minute taxi ride. Outside the door, the canal district unfolds in both directions: bridges stacked with bikes, ramen queues at Fou Fow, and the Grachtenhuismuseum a short stroll off. It is a compact, walkable base. Rooms come with mini-fridges, kettles, and air conditioning, standard rather than remarkable, but the location does the heavier work here — canal water on one side, the city's densest run of independent shops and cafés on the other.
