The Island House
West Nassau's Island House pairs marina views with island-inspired design and cinema
Skip to product information
Set above Lyford Cay Marina in West Nassau, The Island House looks out over moored yachts and open water rather than a beach. The property mixes rooms, suites and apartments across a compound built around a lap pool, gardens and a scatter of low buildings finished in a pared-back island style. Queen and king rooms run to 480 sq. ft with an outdoor terrace; the largest cottage reaches 1,240 sq. ft with 580 sq. ft of terrace and sleeps six. Each room carries a minibar, safe and Bamford spa products. Wellness runs deep here. The Bamford Spa uses the English brand's plant-based treatments, and guests can also book Pilates at The Well or train in a 24-hour gym with an outdoor sauna and cold plunge. Dining spans four restaurants: Shima serves Southeast Asian food on the top floor with open-air seating, Mogano covers Italian, and Yellowbell handles cocktails, coffee and bar bites. A 48-seat cinema screens both blockbusters and art house films and doubles as a venue for live music and talks. It is a short drive to Stuart Cove's dive operation and the Primeval National Park's limestone sinkholes. The hotel also has ties to Highbourne Cay in the Exuma Cays, some 35 miles southeast, for guests who want to extend the trip by boat.
