A sixteenth-century Lisbon palace steps from Avenida da Liberdade and Restauradores

Set behind the façades of Rua das Portas de Santo Antão, this Lisbon hotel occupies a palace built in the 16th century, steps from Praça dos Restauradores and the shops of Avenida da Liberdade. Original ceilings survive throughout, restored panel by panel, and daylight reaches deep into the public rooms through the palace's tall original windows. Behind the building, gardens run to 2,500 m², shading a dragon tree thought to be a century old. It is a quiet stretch of green this close to the centre. The 82 rooms and suites range from compact Cosy rooms of around 25 m² to a 90 m² Signature Suite with its own kitchen and a designer bathtub; several Family and Terrace suites look directly over the garden. Condes de Ericeira restaurant serves Portuguese cooking under frescoed ceilings, and O Jardim wine bar sits open to the garden air. Despacio Spa adds a daylit indoor pool alongside the seasonal outdoor one. Guests can walk to Baixa, Chiado, and São Jorge Castle within minutes, or reach Sintra's trains from a station nearby. The hotel has been recognised by Beyond Green for its sustainability programme and holds a Michelin Key. Check-in runs from 3pm.
