Founded in 2018 in the Almadies district of Dakar, The Palms Luxury Boutique Hotel was built as a small, independently run counterpart to the city's larger hotels. It has twenty rooms and suites, several classed as junior suites, with marble floors throughout and bathrooms finished in marble with mosaic detailing and resin flooring. Fabrics run to cotton, velvet and linen. Junior suites extend up to 35 square metres, enough for guests settling in for longer stays rather than a single night. Each room carries air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a television and a private bathroom.
Dining centres on Restaurant Le Barolo, an Italian kitchen run by chef Alessandro Merlo, who works from Mediterranean and northern Italian traditions rather than fixed seasonal menus alone. The Noliane Terrace adds a separate space for cocktails and evenings out, furnished with vintage pieces and contemporary furniture. Guests can also use a wine bar, a swimming pool and outdoor seating areas set among the property's palm trees.
The hotel sits on Route des Almadies, in one of Dakar's established residential districts, close to the Plage de la Pointe des Almadies and the Mamelles Lighthouse. It is a compact stay. Public spaces can be booked privately for events, from corporate functions to film shoots.
