Club Rio Outdoor Center

Set below the main resort on a private, forested mile of Arenal River frontage, this outdoor hub gathers eight soft-adventure activities in one accessible spot: river tubing, inflatable kayaking, horseback riding, a climbing and rappelling wall, guided nature hikes, fishing, natural hot springs, and a wildlife sanctuary. That sanctuary, run with Costa Rica's environment ministry, houses animals rescued from poachers or handed over by private reserves and individuals. Guests need not book a tour to visit; trails lead to secluded hot springs by the river, and a shuttle bus runs down from the resort. Swimwear and riding clothes are recommended.
