The Urban

The Urban is a hotel in the middle of Siem Reap, close enough to the Old Market and Pub Street to reach both on foot in a couple of minutes. Rooms run from 16 to 36 square metres, furnished in a Khmer style and fitted with air conditioning, cable TV, a work desk and a private bathroom with a hot shower. It is a compact stay, built for guests who want to be near the action rather than removed from it. An outdoor pool sits at the centre of the property, and the on-site restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with both local and international dishes. Reception runs around the clock, and staff arrange tuk-tuk transport and tours, useful given Angkor Wat is a 15-minute drive away and Tonle Sap Lake around 20. Siem Reap's international airport lies some 55 km out of town. The hotel takes part in a tree-planting programme run across its sister properties, and guests can add a tree to their stay at no extra cost. You can be back from the temples by afternoon and still make it to the Old Market for dinner. Massage and laundry services are available, and Wi-Fi covers the property throughout.
