Set along the Kinigi road on the edge of Musanze, Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge faces the Virunga range, the starting point for gorilla treks into Volcanoes National Park. The lodge works this ground quietly: solar panels installed in 2024 now power most rooms, and every guest stay funds a tree planted through a reforestation partnership in Mukura. Rooms run in four grades. Standard rooms are the simplest, close to the garden and pool. Deluxe rooms take a queen bed or two twins, a short walk from the water. Premium Deluxe rooms sit apart, each with a private deck facing the volcanoes. The VIP Cabana is the largest option, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and its own porch and sitting area. Trekking is arranged from the lodge, tracking mountain gorillas and golden monkeys in the forest above. Guests can also join a coffee tasting using beans grown in the region's volcanic soil, or book a massage after a day on the trails. Musanze Caves, the Buhanga Eco-Park and the Twin Lakes lie within reach for a lighter day. It is a compact stay, built around one clear purpose: getting guests into the forest and back out again, fed and rested. The garden and pool do the rest.
