Timberline Glamping Jupiter

Canvas walls, ceiling fans and a mini-split unit stand in for four walls at Timberline Glamping Jupiter, pitched in the Pine Grove loop of Jonathan Dickinson State Park. Each tent comes furnished: proper beds and linens, lamps, a mini-fridge, a Keurig, hammocks strung outside, a charcoal grill, fire pit and picnic table. It is a compact stay. Guests choose between standard, double and deluxe tents, the largest fitted with a king bed and two bunks for families or groups travelling together. The park itself runs to over 10,500 acres, laced with hiking and biking trails, a boat launch and a four-mile drive to the Loxahatchee River, Florida's first federally designated Wild and Scenic River. Deer, raccoons, alligators and manatees move through the surrounding scrub and cypress, and birders come for the more than 150 species recorded here. You can climb Hobe Mountain, an 86-foot dune and the highest natural point south of Lake Okeechobee, or paddle upriver through stands of ancient cypress. Restrooms and showers sit on a path between two of the sites; there is no plumbing inside the tents themselves. Wind gusts on this elevated ground can pass 30 mph, audible through canvas at night, and the property advises earplugs for light sleepers. Check-in runs from 3pm, check-out by 11am.
