Tramonto D'Oro Hotel

Hotel Tramonto D'Oro is set in the centre of Praiano, on the Amalfi Coast, facing Positano across the water. The Esposito family has run it since 1952, making it the town's first hotel. Rooms number 38, no two furnished alike, many finished with hand-painted ceramic tiles from Vietri. Deluxe rooms occupy a separate building and add a 25 m² terrace with a private outdoor jacuzzi, aimed at guests who want the terrace to themselves. Economy rooms are plainer. They have a window but no sea view, kept simple with bright accents of colour. The rooftop pool ranks among the largest on this stretch of coast, set for watching the sunset that gives the hotel its name. A small wellness area holds a sauna and Turkish bath, and the restaurant serves Domenico's cooking on a terrace looking over the coastline. You can watch the light shift over Positano from several of the rooms in late afternoon. Standard, Superior and Superior PVM rooms sit between these poles, some with a partial sea view, others with a plain terrace. The Suite Melina apartment has its own entrance and sea view, with full access to hotel services.
