Tribe Caribe is a five-storey building from the 1930s, set in the Cayo Hueso district of Centro Havana. Eleven rooms and suites occupy the restored structure, each opening onto one of 23 private balconies. Vaulted ceilings and original hand-poured tiles remain in place, and a period cage elevator still runs between floors. Rooms carry locally sourced furniture and original artwork by Cuban and Pan-Caribbean artists, so no two are decorated alike.
MANTECA, the rooftop restaurant and bar, serves a complimentary breakfast each morning with views over five of the city's landmarks, from El Capitolio to the Malecón. By evening the same space turns into a bar open to guests and locals. You can watch the sunset sweep across the rooftop from a corner table. The kitchen runs on an open-air setup with a wood grill and industrial fryer, built for pan-Caribbean, farm-to-table cooking.
