Tropica Island Resort
Arriving by catamaran, speedboat, or a ten-minute helicopter hop from Nadi, guests reach Tropica across a sheltered bay on Malolo Island, in the Mamanuca group. The resort holds 24 bures and suites, adults only, mixing Fijian building forms with a plainer contemporary line. Ten Beachfront Pool Bures sit metres from the shoreline, each with its own plunge pool and a river-rock outdoor shower. It is a compact stay. Seven Sanctuary Pool Suites stand on higher ground behind the main buildings, reached by a short climb of stairs, each 70 m² with an open-plan bedroom, bifold doors onto a private pool, and a rear courtyard shower. The single Deluxe Pool Bure, the largest room category, adds an infinity-edge pool and dual raintree showerheads under cover. A 25-metre infinity pool anchors the grounds, alongside two restaurants, two bars, and a day spa. Guests can borrow kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkelling gear at no charge, and join a kava ceremony or a dawn yoga session. The outer reef lies a short boat ride out, favoured for its snorkelling and dive sites. More than 70 staff run the resort, and the sunset bar is the spot locals point guests toward each evening.
