Six private cottages near Lake Kawaguchi, each with its own Mt Fuji view
Named by its founding family after a television programme about meeting people abroad through homestays, Ururun Kawaguchiko has stayed a small, family-run villa near Lake Kawaguchi. It is not a hotel. The property comprises six self-catered cottages, split across three types: Mt Fuji View Cottages holding up to six guests, a Garden Cottage for five, and two Maisonette Cottages for four. Every unit faces Mt Fuji. Each has its own spa bath finished in artificial marble, positioned so the mountain sits directly in view, along with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a television and DVD player, and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside, wood decks hold private barbecue setups, with grills, charcoal, and tableware supplied on request. The Mt Fuji View Cottage has underfloor heating on its ground level and a sugi-panelled bedroom finished in cedar board, with a double-height living room above holding a single slab timber table. A small play area suits children up to ten, under adult supervision. Parking is provided at all six buildings, and check-in runs from 3pm with checkout at 10am. The current owners describe the place as intentionally modest, built around personal welcome rather than scale. Lake Kawaguchi's seasonal life, from hiking to hot springs, sits within reach, and the Itchiku Kubota Art Museum is nearby.
