Rooms at Vale Resort come with air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee facilities, a straightforward set that suits both golf trips and spa breaks. The resort covers 650 acres of countryside near Pontyclun. Two golf courses run across the grounds, alongside a health club and sporting facilities used by visiting football and rugby teams. It is a working resort, not a boutique stay. The spa is the more detailed offer: five separate relaxation rooms, each with its own theme, including one with Bali beds and another with heated waterbeds and coloured lighting for guests to sit between treatments. Facials and massages draw on Temple Spa and Elemis lines, with treatments running fifty to seventy minutes. A restaurant and bar cover dining, and the estate takes in Hensol Castle and a distillery on site, giving guests a reason to walk beyond the spa and course. Cardiff Castle and the National Museum of Wales sit within reach for a day out. You can move between a round of golf and a facial without leaving the grounds, which is the point of the place.
