Ventana Hotel Prague
High ceilings and tall windows define the rooms at Ventana Hotel Prague, set inside an Art Nouveau palace on the Old Town Square. The building faces the Old Town Hall and its Astronomical Clock, with the spires of Týn Cathedral visible from many windows. Twenty-nine rooms and suites are spread across the property, each individually furnished, with views onto the square, the Týn Cathedral or the row of townhouses known as King's Row. On the top floor, ten split-level Skyloft rooms open onto the city's rooftops through irregular windows, some reaching 60 square metres, each with a canopy bed and a sitting area. It is a compact hotel. Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Square and the boutiques of Parížská street are all within walking distance, and the hotel keeps a small bar and library downstairs for guests who prefer to stay in. Former Czech president Václav Havel is among its recorded visitors. Rooms come fitted with minibars, in-room safes and Pascal Morabito toiletries, standard rather than distinctive, but the setting compensates: few hotels in the city put the clock tower this close to the pillow.
