Victoria Falls River Safaris runs boat excursions on the Zambezi upstream from Victoria Falls, inside Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. The boats are purpose-built for rapids and designed to navigate channels with as little as twenty centimetres of water beneath the hull, opening sections of the river that standard craft cannot reach.

Three scheduled departures run daily — early morning, midday and sunset. Each heads upstream through the park's islands and channels. Hippos and crocodiles are present throughout the year. In winter, elephants cross between the islands and are often visible from the water. A light meal comes with the lunch cruise; the morning and sunset departures include snacks served on an island. Groups wanting exclusive use of a boat can arrange a private departure.

A separate fishing trip targets tigerfish, setting out from Kalai Island roughly nine kilometres above the falls and working downstream through the narrow channels. The route takes in bird watching and general river wildlife alongside the fishing.

The company also runs a water taxi connecting the Royal Livingstone Hotel and AVANI Resort — both within the Mosi-oa-Tunya area — to the Victoria Falls side of the river, carrying guests by boat rather than road. All departures are booked directly with the operator.
