Villa Edelweiss

Set beside a stream at the foot of a waterfall, Vila Edelweiss looks out from Gozd Martuljek toward the peaks that ring the village. Wooden furnishings run through the ten apartments and two rooms, paired with flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and fully equipped kitchens. Some rooms open onto balconies with views over the garden pond or the mountains beyond; others have their own terrace. It is a quiet base. The ground floor holds a breakfast room, a shared lounge, a wine cellar and a room with a piano, and guests can use the sauna year-round. The outdoor pool opens each summer, free to guests, set in a garden with a stream running past. Breakfast is continental and vegetarian, served in-house. Parking sits in front of the villa, one space per apartment, at no extra cost, and pets are welcome for a supplement. Gozd Martuljek itself is an old village at the base of the mountain group, now a starting point for hiking, skiing, cycling and golf nearby. Kranjska Gora is under ten minutes away by car, with its own restaurants and ski runs, while trails from the property lead up toward the waterfall's source. The setting trades nightlife for quiet, which is rather the point.
