Villa Famiri
Villa Famiri is a former ministerial residence in Rainville, a quiet district of Paramaribo close to the Suriname river. It reopened in February 2022 after a full renovation, having spent years before that as a simple bed and breakfast. The building keeps something of its old civic bearing while the rooms inside have been redone in a plainer, modern style: air conditioning, Wi-Fi, television, a fridge and a private bathroom in each. Rooms range from single doubles with a balcony to a deluxe triple with its own outdoor sitting area. A sunken pool sits in the garden, and breakfast is served daily on-site alongside a short menu for other meals. It is a compact stay. On foot, the Waterkant and Fort Zeelandia are around 25 minutes away; by taxi, closer to five. Bicycles can be arranged through a local hire partner, with routes suited to exploring the neighbouring district of Leonsberg. A night porter takes over once the front desk closes for the evening, handling keys but not check-ins. You can walk into town or arrange a car, and either way parking back at the villa is free. The setting suits both business trips and longer stays, without pretending to be more than what it is: a small, family-run house turned hotel, well placed for the old town.
