Villa Gabrisa
Positano's historic centre, fifteen minutes on foot from the beach

Walk down from Positano's old centre and the beach is under fifteen minutes away on foot. Hotel Villa Gabrisa occupies a former villa once owned by the Rispoli family, set among the town's residential lanes rather than on the waterfront itself. Rooms and suites look out instead: balconies and terraces face the Tyrrhenian Sea, with the Li Galli islands visible offshore on a clear day. The Suite Honeymoon is the largest room in the house at 70 square metres, furnished with 18th- and 19th-century antiques and pieces from Florentine workshops. The Suite Romantic, at 40 square metres, keeps a whirlpool bath and a sea-facing balcony. It sleeps two. The Suite Annex, in the wing beside the main building, runs to 60 square metres and sleeps up to four, with a plainer, more minimal feel. Downstairs, the restaurant Da Gabrisa serves regional dishes, including vegetarian and vegan options, on a terrace with its own sea view; the Tulip Bar pours cocktails and stocks more than 50 spirits. The hotel arranges wine tastings, cooking classes and boat trips along the coast, and keeps a small shop selling local wine. Positano's steep lanes, shops and galleries sit a short climb above. Check-in guests receive a welcome drink on arrival.
