Villa Seewoo

Villa Seewoo is set on a hill above La Gaulette, a fishing village on the Rivière Noire coast of Mauritius, roughly 100 metres from the sea. The view runs across the water to Benitiers Island and to Le Morne Brabant, the mountain that anchors this stretch of coastline. Thirteen accommodations make up the property: six rooms in the main house, one tree house, and six apartments. Each has its own large terrace facing the ocean. You can watch the light change over Le Morne from a lounger without leaving the room. A thatched gazebo shades part of the pool area, where a swimming pool gives an alternative to the sea below. The village itself keeps its working character, with fishing boats still drawn up on the sand rather than resort infrastructure crowding the shore. It is a small, quiet base rather than a resort, built for a slow pace and long views. Rooms and apartments differ in layout, but all share the same orientation toward the water, so the mountain and the island stay in sight through the day.
