Vingerklip Lodge sits in the Ugab valley in Damaraland, on the road between Swakopmund and Etosha National Park. The lodge takes its name from the thirty-five-metre sedimentary rock pillar — the Vingerklip, or finger rock — that stands above the valley on the edge of the Ugab Terraces. Most guests come to walk to it and sleep within sight of it.

The lodge holds twenty-five rooms across three types: twelve double rooms, twelve family suites, and one luxury bungalow called Heaven's Gate. Double rooms and family suites are in thatched bungalows, each with a private balcony facing the valley, en-suite shower, air conditioning, mosquito nets, and a safe. Family suites add a mezzanine level with a second double bed, sleeping four. Heaven's Gate is a single bungalow built into the plateau above the main lodge, reached by a short walk and a twenty-five-metre metal staircase — not suitable for guests with walking difficulties.

Four walking trails leave the lodge, ranging from a one-hour direct walk to the Vingerklip to a three-and-a-half-hour loop around both the South and North Terraces. Guided sundowner drives, Bushman art tours, and ziplining are available through local operators and can be booked at reception.

The lodge runs two restaurants. The main restaurant at reception serves breakfast and dinner as a buffet and lunch à la carte, sourcing ingredients from local suppliers. The Eagles Nest restaurant sits on the plateau above the valley — reached in around ten minutes on foot — and serves a traditional Namibian dinner buffet for a maximum of twenty guests; booking is essential. Two pools are available for guests between walks.
