Viva Mérida Hotel Boutique

Set inside a restored colonial building in the centre of Mérida, Viva Mérida Hotel Boutique sits a short walk from the main square. High ceilings and exposed wooden beams run through the property, a legacy of its original construction, while a courtyard garden and outdoor pool sit at its core. Rooms mix that colonial frame with modern fittings: several have a bathroom set on a mezzanine level above the bed. The Master Suite adds two air conditioners, a Dolce Gusto machine, and a desk with a computer. The Viva Loft is a duplex, with a kitchenette and balcony tub upstairs overlooking the Church of Santiago, reached by a stairway at the rear of the hotel. Breakfast draws on Yucatecan ingredients with a French inflection, a nod to the founders' mixed heritage. Afternoons run to a bar and cocktail service. It is a compact, family-run stay.
