White Camel Glamping

Founded by four partners who gave up their careers elsewhere to build a small camp in southern Utah, White Camel now consists of three geodesic domes set outside Kanab. The site was built as a base for the red rock country around it, rather than as a destination in itself. Each dome holds a king-size bed and a loft with two twin mattresses, sleeping up to five. A kitchenette, dining table, and private bathroom mean guests can settle in for several nights without leaving. Outside, a private garden holds a seating area, gas grill, and fire pit, and large windows frame the surrounding rock. It is a compact stay. Kanab itself carries a history as a filming location for Western films and TV, earning it the old nickname Little Hollywood, and the town's main street still carries that flavour. From the domes, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, and the Grand Canyon are all reachable within a day, along with slot canyons and sand dune country closer by. You can watch the sky shift over the rock from the porch after dark, with little else nearby to compete with it. Central heating and air conditioning cover all four seasons, so the domes work as well in winter as in the heat of summer. Check-in and check-out times vary slightly by dome.
