White Mansion Hotel

Set behind a staircase guests photograph on arrival, White Mansion occupies a mansion on Street 240, in a Phnom Penh quarter once settled by Cambodian royal-linked families and, later, diplomatic legations. The building keeps that domestic scale: thirty rooms and suites, none identical, arranged around gardens and a 20-metre saltwater pool. Sitting areas and working stations fill the WM Suites, at 60 square metres each, with a king bed or two twins, a separate bath and shower, and a private terrace or balcony facing garden or city. Junior Suites, on the ground and fourth floors, run to 40 square metres under higher ceilings, with the same balcony or terrace option. Deluxe Rooms are smaller, at 25 square metres, and the ground-floor ones open straight onto the pool and lawns. Beds are dressed with imported box-spring mattresses and memory-foam pillows; bathrobes and slippers are standard. Breakfast is à la carte. You can lounge by the pool's aquamarine water after the day's heat, or take a massage booked at the on-site spa. A lounge and outdoor seating sit within the gardens for meals through the day. It is a compact hotel, built for staying rather than passing through. Check-in runs from 2pm, check-out at noon, with luggage storage available either side.
