Wilderness King's Pool – Birding

Wilderness King's Pool sits within the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, an area formally recognised for its bird populations. Raptors feature prominently, including the Dickinson's kestrel, alongside a wide range of water-associated species such as fish eagles and various herons. African skimmers also frequent the waterways nearby. During the warmer summer season, colonies of southern carmine bee-eaters build nests within reach of the camp, offering close viewing of their bright plumage. Guides point out species along the water and in the surrounding woodland, so bringing binoculars is worthwhile for anyone keen to spot them.
