Wood Ridge Luxury Chalets

Arriving in Werfenweng means turning off the through road entirely: the village keeps traffic out, and the main ski lift sits roughly 100 metres from the chalets. Each log runs to an average diameter of 37cm, and it takes nine of them to build a single storey 2.85m high. The four chalet types range from Little Beaver, a one-bedroom cabin for two, to Wild Moose, which sleeps up to ten across five bedrooms. Every chalet has its own panorama sauna and a covered outdoor whirlpool, plus underfloor heating, a wood-burning stove and a wide timber terrace facing the surrounding peaks. Silver Wolf and Black Bear add marble or double bathrooms and private wellness corners with a rest room built in. Breakfast baskets arrive each morning at the chalet door, filled with milk, eggs and bread from nearby farms. Restaurant Obauer, with three decades of high-end cooking behind it, lies about 9km away by car. Salzburg and its airport sit roughly 45km north. It is a quiet base built from timber that keeps its own carbon locked in for as long as it stands.
