Beachfront suites and terrace dining on Peru's northern coast, near Punta Sal
Skip to product information
Arriving off the Panamericana Norte, guests reach a small hotel set directly on the sand at Canoas de Punta Sal, on Peru's northern coast in Tumbes. Every room opens onto the sea. The round Junior Suite measures 28 square metres and gives a 180-degree ocean view, with a ceiling fan and a terrace at the water's edge. The Deluxe and Family Suites run to 45 square metres, each with a queen bed, a second bed, air conditioning and a sitting area with a sofa bed. A solarium and an infinity pool sit above the shore. From the terrace you can watch boats head out toward the mangroves or the turtle grounds off Cancas. Between July and October, whales pass along this stretch of coast. Meals run from the dining room to the room terrace, and staff arrange kayaking, snorkelling and catamaran trips along the shoreline. Massage treatments can be booked in-room. Parking and airport transfers to Tumbes are arranged directly through the hotel. The pool stays modest in size, more a place to cool off than to swim laps, and the beach in front stays private to guests. It is a small operation, built around direct sea access rather than scale.
