Zen Retreat Hoi An

Marble floors run cool underfoot in every room at Zen Retreat Hoi An, and each opens onto a private balcony facing garden or lake. The resort sits in Cam Thanh Village, close to Cua Dai Beach and the coconut palm waterways nearby. Rooms come in four types: Zen Heritage, at 40 square metres with a colonial-style balcony and separate shower; Family Connecting, a pair of linked 36-square-metre suites for groups; Calm Lake View, also 36 square metres, with a bathroom looking onto still water; and Zen Garden View, at 30 square metres. It is a compact stay. Minibars and in-room safes are standard, and Wi-Fi runs free throughout. An outdoor pool stays open to all guests, and a restaurant serves free breakfast alongside an à la carte menu drawing on local flavour. Massage and yoga sessions run through the wellness programme, aimed at guests who want the pace to slow. Free bicycles are on hand for the ride out to Tra Que's vegetable fields or the boats bound for Cham Island, both within easy reach of the property. Guests can hear little beyond birdsong and the pool water at rest. The staff will also help arrange train tickets on the Hue to Da Nang line, or a boat out to the reefs off Cham Island for the day.
