The lodge lies along a mountainside in Damaraland, above the Huab Valley and the dry Aba-Huab riverbed. Fifty-six rooms are built into the sandstone slope using natural stone, thatch, and paint colours chosen to match the rock. Half face the valley plains and distant mountains; the other half face the red sandstone formations that rise directly behind the property. All rooms have en-suite showers, ceiling fans, mosquito nets, and electronic safes. Twin, double, and triple configurations are available, along with interleading rooms for families. A luxury suite is built around natural rock features and includes a private pool, lounge, kitchen nook, terrace, and minibar.
Guided drives depart into the Aba-Huab valley in the late afternoon to track desert-adapted elephants that move through the riverbed. Routes cross savannah lowlands, fairy circles, and welwitschia plants, returning via a sundowner stop at Welwitschia Hill. Morning and afternoon hiking trails thread through the immediate area. Excursions run to the Twyfelfontein rock engravings—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and to the Burnt Mountain, Organ Pipes, and Petrified Forest. The Living Museum of the Damara demonstrates traditional blacksmithing, leatherwork, and fire-making techniques.
