African Queen Sunset Cruise

Two boats — the African Queen and the African Princess — run daily cruises on the Zambezi upstream of Victoria Falls, through the national park that borders the river. The water here is wide and unhurried, and the banks hold hippos, crocodiles, and a range of water birds; the guide and boat captain point out wildlife as the cruise moves along.

Four formats run through the day: a morning breakfast cruise, a midday lunch cruise, a two-hour sunset cruise as the light flattens over the water, and a full moon dinner cruise that departs after dark, when the national park requires all other vessels off the river. The full moon cruise serves a three-course meal in the open air.

A private upper-deck section — the Captain's Cabin — can be reserved on either vessel, giving you a dedicated crew, elevated views over the river, and the captain's company for the duration of the cruise.

All cruises are fully inclusive: food and drinks are provided on board. The sunset cruise runs roughly two hours. Both boats can be booked as a standalone activity or as the opening day of a multi-activity package through Livingstone's Adventure, which also handles road transfers from local accommodation in Livingstone.
