Alte Brucke Resort
Swakopmund resort with thirty-one chalets, two hundred metres from the beach

Swakopmund's older quarter holds Alte Brücke Resort, set 200 metres back from the beach and a 1.2-kilometre walk from the centre of town. The Atlantic runs cold along this stretch of Namibian coast, and the resort's chalets and campsites sit close enough that the sea air reaches every unit. The property offers 31 self-catering chalets, ranging from exclusive units around a shared garden courtyard to one- and two-bedroom layouts that sleep up to six. It's a practical base. Each chalet comes with its own kitchen and an open-plan living area, and a barbecue point outside for guests who want to cook their own catch. Thirty-six camping and caravan sites fill out the grounds, each with a private bathroom, power point, and barbecue facilities, set on lawned pitches rather than bare sand. On site, the Old Steamer restaurant runs a buffet dinner that changes three times a week, built around fillet steak, seasonal vegetables, and a dessert table. You can walk from the resort to restaurants, pubs, and shops in a few minutes, and the beach itself is close enough for an evening stroll. A conference and functions venue rounds out the property, making it as workable for a group booking as for a family stopover on a Namibian coastal route.
