Alunan Resort
Built into a rainforest slope above Petani Beach on Perhentian Kecil, Alunan Resort houses 18 double-storey suites distributed across terraces that follow the natural contour of the hillside. Each suite is enclosed by floor-to-ceiling glass panels and opens onto a private rooftop deck furnished with a hammock and sun loungers. Views extend across the sea or into the rainforest canopy. Interiors hold air-conditioning, ceiling fans, a flat-screen television, a mini-fridge, and reef-safe toiletries. The Family Suite spans two rooms across 91 m² and accommodates five adults.
The resort operates on an all-inclusive basis. Bayu Restaurant serves Asian and Italian dishes at fixed hours throughout the day, with views of the sea. The Sunset Deck opens mid-afternoon for drinks and snacks prepared from fresh ingredients. Three yacht excursions per stay are included: a leisure sailing trip, a circuit of the Perhentian Islands, and a glass-bottom boat tour above the coral nursery. Guided snorkelling departs daily. Stand-up paddleboards and kayaks are available without charge. The property runs a Department of Fisheries–recognised coral restoration programme; guests may adopt fragments and observe planting through the glass-bottom boat or via virtual-reality headset. Activities include batik painting, nature walks, and cultural programmes. Vayu Spa operates with a treatment voucher included per stay. An infinity pool overlooks the channel. Scheduled boat transfers depart Kuala Besut Jetty twice daily.
