Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort

Anantara Dhigu sits on Dhigufinolhu Island in South Malé Atoll, ringed by a white sand beach and surrounded by reef water. The resort holds one hundred and ten villas and suites across two configurations: beach villas set along the shoreline, and overwater suites built out above the lagoon. A number of both types have private pools. All rooms carry Wi-Fi.

The resort has several restaurants serving both Maldivian and international food, and a selection of bars. There is also an infinity pool on the island and a spa built over the water.

For those who want to get into the water rather than look at it, the resort arranges diving, surfing, and fishing. The reef around South Malé Atoll is the draw for divers; surfing in the atoll is seasonal, with the Indian Ocean swell running from around May through October.

The nearest international gateway is Velana International Airport in Malé. South Malé Atoll sits close enough to the capital that transfers are typically by speedboat rather than domestic flight, making arrival straightforward compared with resorts deeper in the archipelago.
