andBeyond Ngala Tented Camp

andBeyond Ngala Tented Camp sits inside the Ngala Private Game Reserve — 14,700 hectares in the Timbavati, bordering Kruger — with nine tented suites arranged on raised platforms along the seasonal Timbavati River. Because the camp is small, it works well as an exclusive-use booking for a family or a group.

Each tented suite has an en-suite bathroom with double vanities, an indoor shower, an outdoor shower, and an outdoor bathtub, plus a private wooden deck, air conditioning, a fan, a fridge, and a minibar. The interiors use canvas and granite stone alongside Shangaan-inspired mid-century shapes and embroidered regional textiles. A rim-flow pool overlooks the dry riverbed; salas beside the pool offer shade for reading or a midday meal. A massage sala with an outdoor treatment area and a gym are also on site.

Game drives go out in the early morning and late afternoon and continue after dark as night drives. Guided interpretive walks cover tracks, flora, and smaller wildlife around the camp; qualified guides also lead big-game tracking walks on foot with the chance to approach certain Big Five species. Additional activities — rhino notching, a photographic safari on a vehicle fitted with camera mounts for up to four guests, private vehicle hire with a dedicated ranger and tracker, and a sleep-out in the Ngala Treehouse — are available at extra cost. Children aged thirteen and over are welcome at the camp.
