Turtle Nesting Adventure (additional cost)

Between November and February, leatherback and loggerhead turtles come ashore at Sodwana Bay to lay eggs, and this outing follows them by vehicle along an empty stretch of coast. Guides scan the sand for fresh tracks left where the turtles crawled up from the Indian Ocean, then follow them to the nesting spot. Once there, guests watch a female dig her nest and deposit a clutch that can number close to a hundred eggs. Timing depends on the moon and tide, so each trip runs at night and outcomes are never guaranteed. It is seasonal and comes at an additional cost.
