andBeyond Phinda Mountain Lodge sits on a hilltop in Phinda Private Game Reserve, KwaZulu-Natal, with long views over the Ubombo mountain range and the Lebombo foothills. The lodge holds sixteen suites, six cottages, three family cottages, and one family suite — twenty-three units in total. Every room has a private plunge pool and an outdoor shower on the veranda; the suites and cottages differ mainly in size, and the cottages connect through interleading doors to form family configurations.

The bathrooms are designed with reference to Zulu basketware patterns, and the suite interiors are lit through large glass windows. A rim-flow pool follows the line of the hill. There is also a spa, a gym, a yoga deck, and a boma built from stone and reed where dinners are served by candlelight. The dining area includes an interactive kitchen and a pizza oven.

Game drives run in the early morning and late afternoon, continuing after dark on night drives. Rangers and trackers accompany guided walks, including a specialist big game walk on foot. Phinda runs active conservation programmes — guests can join rhino notching operations, elephant collar changes, and a pangolin reintroduction project that monitors Temminck's ground pangolin using VHF and GSM tracking tags.

Sodwana Bay on the Indian Ocean coast is reachable for turtle tracking between November and March, beach outings, and scuba diving on a coral reef that holds more than one thousand two hundred fish species. A Zulu community visit is available through the reserve.
